Located only a 30 minute drive from downtown Los Angeles, in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, Van Nuys Airport (VNY) ranks as one of the world’s busiest general aviation airports in the world. Exclusively committed to non-commercial air travel, VNY averages well over 220,000 takeoffs and landings annually, with two parallel runways, FAA Tower with full instrument landing system & US Customs for international air travel. The main runway is 8,000 feet in length and the training runway is 4,000 feet long. VNY has a rich history in aviation, hosting record breakers and celebrities over its almost 100 years in service. Originally established as the Los Angeles Metropolitan Airport, it was officially dedicated on December 17, 1928, the 25th Anniversary of the Wright Brothers first powered flight.
