Flight Training
In order to be eligible for a rating in the Northrop T-38 or F-5 aircraft, an applicant must have an airplane pilot certificate with instrument and multi-engine ratings. A minimum of 1,000 hours logged pilot time is also required.

T-38 Advanced Supersonic Jet Trainer
To obtain a pilot rating in the T-38 or F-5, a pilot must first have received ground and flight instruction from an instructor authorized by the FAA to provide such training (an Authorized Instructor) and then successfully complete a check ride from a Designated Pilot Examiner.
Thornton Aircraft Company maintains an active list of Authorized Instructors and Designated Pilot Examiners available to provide training and check rides in these aircraft.
